Mikrosam has an R&D laboratory at its premises, with a range of in-house laboratory testing and production machines for all of the technologies from our portfolio: Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), Filament Winding (FW), Prepreg Slitting and Testing Services.

AFP and ATL Multi-material Robotic cell
- 6-axis Robot KUKA
- Additional 2 interpolated axes for linear and rotational tools, L = 8m ; Ø2m W=10,000kg
- Multi-material AFP Head with 4 or 8 tows for 1/4″ or 1/2″ wide
- Multi-material (single-tape) ATP for 1/4″; 1/2″; 1″ or 2″ wide
- ATL up to 150 mm for thermoset materials

Filament Winding
- 5-axis overhead beam

Prepreg Slitting and Rewinding
- Slit wide prepreg mother spools from 630mm down to 50, 150, or 300mm child spool
- Narrow slitting child spools from 320mm down to 1/4, 1/2 or 1″ tapes -> slitting into cassettes
- Rewinders for creating AFP/ATP ready spools -> rewind and splice several cassettes into 1 AFP Spool of 1/4″ or 1/2″ wide
- Capability for in-house material slitting or for custom on-demand slitting services
- Demonstration and Proof-of-Concept for various slitting needs
